ROSE COOKIES

ROSE COOKIES 

 One of the all time favourite snacks. Kids as well grownups love to have this rose shaped snacks.

Ingredients: 

All purpose flour-2cups
Egg- 1
Sugar-1 cup (Powder the sugar for mixing easily)
Vanilla essense- 1 and 1/2 tsp
Oil- to fry
Rose shape spatula



Method:

1. Mix all the ingredients slowly one by one, add little water.

 2. Make the mixture in to dosa batter consistency.

 3. Heat the oil, keep the Rose shape Spatula for 2-3mts in oil.

 4.Dip in the mixture till it get immense to 1/2 and place in hot oil.

 5.After few seconds, try to shake little to drop the cookies in to the oil/with the help of  fork drop it into the oil.

 6.Fry on both sides, let it cool for 5mts before you enjoy these cookies...

 7. Make sure the spatula is hot(keep in oil for few seonds) before you dip it  inthe mixture for next cookie..

Red rice Appam



Ingredients:

Rice red-1cup
Parboiled rice-1cup
Urad.dhal- 1/4cup
Salt- as per taste



Method:

1.Soak all the grains together overnight or atleast 7-8hours.

2.Grind inthe mixie to the nice batter consistency.
3.Add salt, mix it well and keep overnight for fermentation.

4.Next day mix the batter well.In a hot nonstick appam /kadal,smear with drop of oil, pour a laddle full of batter.

5.Rotate the kadai in a circle motion to make it to spread over the kadai.
6.Close with lid, allow to steam for couple of minute.

7.Gently take out of kadai, serve with coconut milk/non.veg kurma.

Egg fry/ Varuval

Its really simple& easy recipe, but suits most of our rice varieties...


Ingredients:

1. Boiled eggs:4
2. Garlic pods-4
3. Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
4. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
5. Salt -as per taste
6. Oil- 2 tsp
7. Curry leaves- optional


Method:

1. Slice boiled egg into halves.
2. In a pan, heat the oil, fry the crushed garlic pods, add curry leaves at this stage.

3. Once they are half done, add the chill, turmeric powders&salt.
4. Pour 1/4 glass of water and allow to get cook till its reaches little thick gravy like consistency.

5. Drop the sliced eggs into the mixture, slim the flame to medium.
6. Start flipping the eggs each other once it get nicely coated.

7. Enjoy the delicious fried egg with sambar, rasam, curd rice etc

Quinoa(Keen-Wah) Biriyani

A healthy and balanced source of protein meal....

Ingredients:


  • Quinoa- 2cups
  • Chopped.Vegetables- 2cups
  • Onion-1 big
  • Soy chuncks- 1cup
  • Cardamom-2
  • Bayleaves-1-2
  • Chilli powder-2tsp
  • Tumeric powder-1/4tsp
  • Salt- As per taste

For grinding:

Garlic- 6pods
Ginger-  a piece
Cinnamanon- 2-3 pieces
Cloves- 5-6
Fennel seeds- 1/4tsp
Corriander/Mint leave- 1/4cup
Green chilly-2

Method:

1. Wash 2-3 times Quinoa properly& soak in water for atleast 30-45mts.
2. Meantime chop the vegetable, onion and finish the grinding part.
3.Add little oil in the pan, drop cardamom, bayleaf, onion, start frying it.
4. Once onion is half done, add the grinded mixtue, salute it well, slowly drop the soy chuncks&all the vegetables.


5.Add Tumeric, Chilli, Salt and add little water and cover the lid. Allow it to cook for 10-15mts  in slow flame

6. Finally add soaked Quinoa and  3 cups of water
(as we have already  added little water along with vegetable),


mix well& cover it on medium flame cook fo r 12 mts&off the stove.
7. After pressure settles, open and fluff it and cover for another 5mts...
   
8. Healthy Quinoa biriyani is ready:)

Rava.Banana Kuzhipaniyaram

Hi Dear Friends,

  I'm here to share a wonderful, simple at the same time very easy receipe ...

One of my daughter's  classmate mom  gave this as Prasadham, i just got the receipe and tried at home.

Without taking much time, lets step into the process quickly..

Ingredients:

Rava/Suji- 1& 1/2 cup
Ripenbanana-1
Coconut-2tsp
Brownsugar/Sugar-1cup
Elachi power-1tsp
Milk- 250ml
Cashew-10
Salt- a pinch(optional)- to enhance the sweet

Method:

1. Soak Rava in milk for 1 hour.
2. Grind the soaked rava,brownsugar/sugar,Fresh coconut,  Elachi powder, Banana(please don't add any water unless it is required ).
3.Add the broken cashew bits into the mixture.


4. Heat the kuzhupaniyam pan ,gease with little ghee and pour 3/4th and cover . Allow it to cook on medium flame for 5mts and turn it, cook for another few minutes.


5. If you don't have pan, you can drop it as a ball in the pan &deep fry it.
6.My observation, rather than having it very hot, having it luke warm gives us nice taste..

SPICY AND PERFECT SHRIMP GRAVY

 Hope everyone doing good...This time i am here to present you with tasty shirmp gravy for this chill weather...



Ingredients:

Shirmp - 1lb
Onion- 2 medium
Tomoto- 2 medium
Ginger.Garlic paste- 2tsp
Tumeric powder- 1/2tsp
Red chilli.powder-2&1/2tsp
Salt- as per your taste

For seasoning:

Mustard
Curry leaves

Method:

1. Clean the shrimp well and marinate with little salt&tumeric powder, keep aside.
2. Heat oil in pan, season with mustart&curry leaves
3.Add chopped onions, then G.Gpaste, tomotoes one by one, fry it well.
4. Add Shirmp to this mixture,add chillipowder&salt..
5. Mix it well, add little water and close cook the receipe in medium flame for 20mts
6. Open now mix well, let it cook in open for other 10mts in low flame.
7. Oil oozzes out the recipe, is the indication it is done.

Some add coconut milk at the end before 10mts cooking, enhance the taste....its purely optional



Enjoy with Idli, dosai, chappathi,even if you mix with hot  plain rice have it .....it tastes awesome:)

New Project


Hi Dear Friends,
Sorry disappeared for 1month with out proper notice:))

Actually recently before 3weeks i got so interested into Crochet works, got things from Michaels Art and craft.

In this 3weeks i did 4 headcaps for my Mom, Motherinlaw, Niece and Daughter....I learnt from youtube.

Planning to do more new designs, here i like to mention my hubby's encouragement too. He was in such a happiness and encouraged me like any after seeing my hand works..thanks dear.


Now comes my receipe, i have many in my drafts. Hope to post atleast once in a while for sure.

MINI VEG.UTTHAPPAM



Ingredients:


1.Idly/dosai batter(measurement: 4cup parboiled &1cup uradhal, soak it with few fenugreeks seeds,grind it after 5-6hrs nicely, add salt,allow to ferment it over night).

2.Finely chopped Onion,greenchillies,grated Carrot.
3. Mustard, Jeera, split urad dhal, Curry leaves

Method:

1. First season Mustard, Jeera, Split urad.dhal,curry leaves in little oil.

2. Add this and chopped Onion, green chillies and Carrot to the batter.

3.Check the salt and Pour just small size on hot dosai pan.(I poured 3 mini Utthappam at one time)

4.Drizzle little oil on the sides, so that it comes cripsy.

5. If you wish garnish with chopped Corriander, before you turn Utthappam to the other side for cooking.


6. Serve hot with you favourite chutney.
